Chart the Untamed Nebulae Aboard a Brass Skyship

The Guild charts luminous deep-sky nebulae aboard copper-clad aether skyships — orreries humming, star-sails full, logbooks open. Your berth is waiting.

Fitted Out for the Void

Every skyship leaves Guildhall Pier 9 with instruments of uncompromising brass.

Orrery Navigation

A brass orrery of 2,400 hand-cut gears plots your course through the Orion Drift, correcting for aether currents before you ever feel them.

Aether Propulsion

Twin copper aether-engines sip starlight and exhale a comet-tail wake — silent, tireless, and faintly fragrant of ozone and machine oil.

Cartographer’s Logbook

Every expedition returns with pressed star-charts inked in luminescent pigment, and your name is entered in the Guild ledger of discovery.

How an Expedition Runs

Three movements, from charting hall to christening toast.

  1. Calibrate the Orrery

Deliver your destination to the charting hall. Our geometers set the great orrery turning and lock your route to the prevailing aether currents.

  2. Board the Skyship

Step aboard at Guildhall Pier 9. Stow your trunk, take your berth, and watch the mooring chains released at first dusk.

  3. Chart the Nebula

Through the observation dome you sketch, name, and log your nebula — then toast its christening in the officers’ mess.

Chronicles of the Void

Entries from the Guild’s passenger ledger.

“We entered the Veil with a hand-drawn chart and emerged with a constellation bearing my daughter’s name. The Guild delivers wonder — on schedule.”

Captain Isadora Blackwood
Aether Navigator, the skyship Persephone

“The aether-engines purred like a well-fed clock. I have crossed the void by lesser means; never again.”

Professor Aldous Finch
Celestial Naturalist, Royal Aether Society

“My logbook smells of ink and stardust. Worth every sovereign — and the officers’ porter punch is a triumph.”

Mistress Wren Copperkettle
Expedition Chronicler, third voyage

Questions Before the Void

Answers from the Guild’s purser office.

Is aether travel safe?

Remarkably so. Every skyship sails with triple-redundant pressure shells and two licensed aether engineers. The Guild has lost no vessel since the incident of 1901, which we do not discuss.

What should I pack?

Sturdy boots, a warm coat, and no more than one trunk. Goggles, logbook, and brass spectacles are issued at the gangway; ink is provided.

How long is a typical expedition?

Most charting runs last twelve days. Deep-drift expeditions to the Orion Spur run six weeks, with letters ferried home weekly by dispatch skiff.

Can I cancel my passage?

Full refund up to seven days before departure; half refund thereafter. Expeditions cancelled for void weather are rebooked or refunded in full.

Are the skyships accessible?

Guildhall Pier 9 and all berths are step-free. Speaking-tube service reaches the bridge from every deck, and the observation dome offers tactile chart rails.

The Nebula Awaits, Explorer

Leave your guild wire address and the purser shall telegraph when the next skyship makes fast at Pier 9.
