Guild-Certified Automata

Wind your workflows like brass automata

Cogsmith turns recurring work into a clockwork engine: draft the mechanism once, wind the mainspring, and let precision brass run the whole shop while you sleep.

Fig. II — The Movement

Mechanisms worthy of the name

Three plates from the Cogsmith movement, each cut, tempered, and jeweled in-house.

Cam-Driven Recipes

Chain any process into cams and followers. One crank turns a hundred small, perfect motions — no logic puzzles required.

Escapement Timing

Each step releases on the exact tick. No race conditions, no jitter — only well-bred regularity, jewel-smooth.

The Ledger of Deeds

Every winding is engraved on brass plate in strict sequence. Auditable by any inspector, editable by no one.

Fig. III — Assembly Order

From blueprint to ticking brass

Three operations on the bench, start to finish.

  1. 01

    Draft the Blueprint

Sketch the process in the drafting atelier — gears for logic, cams for branching, springs for retries.

  2. 02

    Wind the Mainspring

One winding stores the whole run. Cogsmith computes torque, tension, and every tooth's engagement.

  3. 03

    Release the Automaton

Let it tick. Watch progress through the glass back-plate; pull the lever if it ever drifts.

Fig. IV — Attestations

Sworn at the bench

Statements given before witnesses, in ink.

"Our nightly settlements used to stall like a rusted verge. Since Cogsmith, they tick like a cathedral clock."
— Octavia Bell · Mistress of the Lead-Glass Guild
"I wound the automaton on a Monday and forgot it existed. Four hundred days, not one missed beat."
— Hieronymus Fetch · Archivist, Grand Canal Co.
"The Ledger of Deeds passed our auditors without a single cough. Brass, it turns out, is more honest than paper."
— Wilhelmina Cog · Inspector Emerita, Bureau of Weights

Fig. VI — Inquiries

Questions put to the counter

No. Cogsmith ships with a drafting atelier of ready-made gear trains — scheduling, retries, approvals — that snap together like a well-cut puzzle. Journeymen may still hand-file their own cams.

The automaton halts at its last completed tick and files a tension report to the Ledger. Rewind, and it resumes from that exact tooth — nothing is ever done twice.

Happily. Flanged adapters exist for REST, cron, and webhooks. A carrier-pigeon adapter is in beta and famously reliable in fair weather.

Each entry is pressed into brass in strict sequence. Not even the Master Smith can quietly re-file a tooth without the whole guild hearing the click.

Serve notice at the counter. Your automata keep ticking until the month is out, then the workshop doors close behind them with a respectful click.

The workshop is warm. The brass is waiting.
