Blind emboss · Deboss · Foil — since 2011

Stationery you can feel before you can read.

Cameo Press is an artisan letterpress studio in Portland, Oregon. We sculpt your mark into Italian cotton paper — raised, pressed, and made to outlast the trend cycle.

Built for fingertips first

Three reasons paper people keep our cards in the drawer — and hand them back out.

Blind emboss, no ink

We mill your mark in magnesium and press it into the sheet under a ton of pressure — type you read with your fingertips.

Paper with a pulse

600gsm Italian cotton, deckle-trimmed and acid-free. Soft enough to dent with a nail, stout enough to file for decades.

Finished by hand

Every run is hand-fed, numbered, and inspected under raking light before it is wrapped and shipped.

From mark to impression

Three visits to the press. Most orders ship within 7–10 business days of proof approval.

01

Send your mark

Upload a logo, a monogram, or a napkin sketch. We prep the artwork in-house at no charge.

02

We cut the die

Your design is milled into a magnesium die and mounted on our 1962 Vandercook proof press.

03

It meets the paper

Each sheet is hand-fed and pressed one impression at a time, then trimmed, checked, and wrapped.

Word from the drawer

What studios say after their first run comes back from the press.

“Clients physically hold on to these cards. I watched a founder pocket mine mid-pitch — and then call.”

Margot Ellery

Creative Director, Fern & Field

“The debossed thank-you notes outsold our candles. People come back for the feel, not the print.”

Aisha Okafor

Owner, Ash & Oak Ceramics

“Cameo matched our foil seal to the monogram on the first die strike. Zero revisions, ten days, done.”

Before the press runs

The questions we hear most at the counter.

What is the difference between emboss and deboss?

Emboss raises your mark above the sheet; deboss presses it below the surface. We strike a paper proof of both so you can choose with your hands, not a screenshot.

Do I need print-ready artwork?

No. Send a logo, a sketch, or a photo of your storefront sign. We clean and proof every file in-house before the die is cut.

How long does a run take?

Most orders ship 7–10 business days after you approve the proof. Rush impressions can usually hit the press within 72 hours.

Can I reorder with the same mark?

Yes — every die is catalogued in our library. Reorders skip the die fee entirely and ship in about four days.

Do you ship internationally?

We ship worldwide from Portland. Kits travel flat in a rigid envelope; full suites ride in a letterpress box with corners you could stand on.
