Level 2 · Next to the Fountain

Muzak for the modern drift.

Endless mallsoft — fountain echoes, food-court hum, and skylight haze, streamed from malls that time forgot.

Amenities

Everything the concourse had

Every stream is engineered from real dead-mall acoustics — no synths pretending, just rooms remembering.

Fountain Ambience

Looping water features bathed in cathedral reverb, tuned to 60 BPM so the drift never breaks.

Food Court Frequencies

Sizzling teriyaki, clinking trays, and a pretzel warmer's hum, folded into one slow nostalgic haze.

Plastic Botanicals

Evergreen atrium pads and HVAC drones — green forever, watered never, humming always.

Overheard

Voices from the food court

"I fell asleep in a Sbarro that closed in 2007. Ten minutes on Nimbus and I was back on that vinyl bench, pretzel warming, fountain humming."
— Maribel Q. · former Orange Julius shift lead
"Our whole design team keeps Nimbus on during crunch weeks. It sounds like the last sunny Saturday of 1996, bottled."
— Dan K. · art director, Portland

Asked at the info desk

What is mallsoft, exactly?

A branch of vaporwave that slows, stretches, and re-rooms muzak and field recordings until they sound like a shopping mall at 4 p.m. on a Tuesday. Nimbus builds ours from real dead-mall acoustics.

Do these malls actually exist?

Most did. Every floor plan is traced from archived directories of malls that closed between 1994 and 2010. A few — like the Fountain Atrium — are loving composites.

Can I cancel anytime?

Yes. Leave the mall whenever you like — no exit interviews, no parking validation. Your favorite benches stay warm for 90 days, just in case.

Final call

The mall is open. It was always open.
