Quarry-Direct Slabs
Every block is selected at source in Carrara and Tinos, graded by hand for purity of vein and tone before it ever leaves the quarry face.
Est. 1987 · Quarried in Carrara
Nimbus is a stone atelier that quarries, carves, and sets museum-grade marble for homes and institutions that intend to be remembered.
Trusted by architects in fourteen countries — every slab traceable to its quarry face.
The Craft
Three disciplines, one bench: sourcing, shaping, and stewardship — the pillars of every Nimbus commission.
Every block is selected at source in Carrara and Tinos, graded by hand for purity of vein and tone before it ever leaves the quarry face.
Our cutters and carvers, trained in Florence and Rhodes, translate classical proportion into crisp, quietly modern profiles.
Sealing, polishing, and restoration for the life of the stone — a promise kept in writing since the atelier first opened its doors.
The Commission
We survey your space, present full slabs — never samples — and match veining to your light and architecture.
CNC-guided saws make the rough cuts; every edge is finished by hand and dry-fitted in the atelier before dispatch.
Our own fitters set, seal, and polish in place, then schedule seasonal care visits — indefinitely.
Voices
Nimbus matched one continuous Statuario vein across an eight-metre reception wall. Visitors assume the room was built around the stone. It was.
Twelve years of guests, luggage carts, and spilled Bordeaux — the honed lobby floor still photographs like the day it was sealed.
They quarried, cut, and set a fireplace surround that looks plucked from a Palladian villa. The paperwork and aftercare proved equally flawless.
The Investment
Quoted per square foot of finished stone. Every tier includes quarry traceability and a written aftercare schedule.

Questions
Six to twelve weeks from slab selection to final polish. Reserve-block quarrying for rare statuary can extend to sixteen — and we will say so at the first meeting.
Yes, with the right finish. We recommend honed surfaces for kitchens: they forgive acid etching and wear like a patina rather than a scar. Every commission includes a care manual and the first sealing visit.
We crate, insure, and ship worldwide, and our own fitters travel with the stone. We never use third-party installers — the hands that cut it set it.
Send photographs taken in raking light and we will search our archived quarry lots. We hold records of every block since 1987, so matches are found more often than you might expect.
Annual inspection, resealing on schedule, and priority restoration — for the life of the stone. It is written into every contract at no additional cost.
Join the atelier dispatch — quarry notes, care guides, and first sight of newly arrived slabs. No noise, only stone.
