Measured to the Canon
Every capital and frieze is redrawn from original surveys, faithful to Vitruvian proportion down to the last abacus.
Acanthus · The Classical Design Atelier
A living library of acanthus scrolls, volutes, and carved foliage — drawn from the temples of antiquity and redressed for the workshops of today.
The Craft
Every capital and frieze is redrawn from original surveys, faithful to Vitruvian proportion down to the last abacus.
Vector acanthus that bends from a signet ring to a pediment without losing a single volute or tendril.
Each motif cites its source — the Erechtheion, Pompeii, Hadrian's Villa — so your work carries history, not hearsay.
The Method
Begin with measured plates from temple, villa, and codex — each motif documented at full scale.
Mirror, bend, and scale the foliage to your elevation, mantel, or manuscript with parametric ease.
Export workshop-ready files for CNC, letterpress, or the steady hand of a carver.
Testimony
Acanthus supplied the missing volutes for our Victorian conservatory restoration. The joinery is seamless, and the carving guides saved us a fortnight of guesswork.
Thirty years I have waited for a library that treats ornament as seriously as structure. This is that library — every leaf earns its place.

Inquiries
Every pattern is redrawn from measured surveys, plaster casts, and surviving carved surfaces. Each plate cites the building, the date, and the survey method — authenticity is a matter of record, not resemblance.
The Atelier and Master Craftsman tiers carry full commercial licenses for print, product, and architectural use. The Apprentice tier is reserved for study and portfolio pieces.
SVG for the screen, DXF for the machine, and print-ready PDF plates at full scale — plus carving guides with tool-path notes for hand work.
