The Faded Rose
Shop the Club

Dorset est. 1987

Homeware that remembers, restored with love.

Rescued from attics, fairs and country clearances, every piece is mended, waxed and polished by hand in our workshop — then sent to your cottage door, ready for another hundred years of Sunday afternoons.

A softly faded still life of vintage cottage homeware

Our gentle promises

Faded, chipped, and thoroughly loved

We only sell what we would happily keep ourselves — here is how every piece earns its place on your shelf.

Lovingly Restored

Every drawer runner re-waxed, every rim gently re-silvered. Our makers spend up to twelve hours on a single piece before it earns the Rose stamp.

Kindly Sourced

Rescued from house clearances and closing country fairs — nothing new, nothing rushed, and never, ever a reproduction.

Wrapped Like a Gift

Tissue, twine and a sprig of dried lavender. If it isn't beautiful enough to give your grandmother, we simply won't post it.

Letters back

Kind words from cottage keepers

The rose-embossed jug arrived looking better than the photographs, and the little history card made me cry into my tea.
Margaret E.

I ordered a linen press in sage and the workshop posted wax samples first. Utterly, comfortingly human.

Every parcel from the Rose feels like a letter from an old friend. My kitchen shelf is now a small, well-loved museum.

Curiosities

Questions we're often asked over tea

Everything we sell is genuinely old — most pieces date from 1900 to 1970. We photograph every chip and fading patch honestly, so what you see is precisely what arrives on your doorstep.

One-off finds ship within 3–5 working days. Bespoke commissions — such as re-upholstering a bergère chair — take four to six weeks, and we write to you weekly with progress notes.

Wrap it back in its tissue and tell us within 14 days. We collect, refund or restore it again free of charge, and we cover postage both ways — no quibbles, ever.

Any time, from your account or with a polite email. Skip a month, pause for winter, or cancel with a click — your loyalty lavender sprigs never expire.

We ship across Europe and to Canada, the US and Australia. International parcels travel with extra padding; delivery takes 7–12 days and duties are arranged at checkout.
