Two-ink engine
Pick any two spot colors. Nimbus overprints them like a real riso drum — multiply blends and all.
Issue Nº 07 · Fresh off the drum
Nimbus — a print studio for the web
Two spot inks, real grain and honest misregistration — rendered straight to the browser. No press, no plates, no apologies.
What's in the drum
Every layer behaves like real ink on real paper — smudges included.
Pick any two spot colors. Nimbus overprints them like a real riso drum — multiply blends and all.
Paper noise is baked into every surface. Your page will never look suspiciously clean again.
Nudge layers a few pixels off register. Badges tilt, shadows drift. Imperfection is a feature.
How it works
Two drums, any colors from the riso swatch book. Preview every overprint before you commit.
Paste in words, links and pictures. Nimbus lays them out with the patience of a stapler.
Publish to a URL or export press-ready PDFs. Grain, tilt and smudge preserved forever.
Field notes
Mo Okafor
Art director, Fold Press
"Nimbus is the only web tool my laser printer is jealous of. The misregistration dial alone is worth the twelve bucks."
June Park
Zine maker, Wet Ink Club
"My last issue looked so good in dark mode that a stranger asked which fluoro ink I used. It was CSS, Janet. It was CSS."

Loose ends
Nope. Nimbus fakes the chemistry in the browser — multiply blends, spot inks, grain and drum dust included. If you do own a riso, export the separations and feed it real paper.
They stay fluoro-bright. Only the paper turns black and the overprint blend flips from multiply to screen — exactly like printing on black stock.
Yes — every issue exports as press-ready PDFs with one separation per ink. Crop marks on, apologies off.

One email per press run. No spam — we can barely afford the ink.
