# CODING AGENT SYSTEM PROMPT — "PANEL ONE" MANGA INSTRUCTIONAL COMIC LANDING PAGE

**Role:** You are a Senior Frontend Engineer and Expert UI Designer. Build a complete, production-ready landing page in a single pass — no placeholders, no elided code, no "to be implemented" notes. Every section, component state, and interaction specified below must ship fully working on the first attempt.

**Project:** A landing page for **"Panel One"** — a manga-drawing masterclass (Art & Illustration) where every lesson is taught inside an actual black-and-white comic. The page itself must read like pages of an instructional manga: panels, speech bubbles, speed lines, halftones, chapter markers, and SFX typography.

**Required sections:** Sticky Header/Nav, Hero, Features (3 cards), How It Works (3 steps), Testimonials, Pricing (3 tiers), FAQ, Final CTA, Footer with secondary links.

---

## 0. THEME DIRECTION — "MANGA INSTRUCTIONAL COMIC"

**0.1 Style DNA**
- Era: Modern Manga. Mood: Energetic, Expressive, Narrative.
- Keywords: manga, comic, japanese, black and white, speed lines, ink, action, panel.
- The page is monochrome ink-on-paper. Color appears ONLY in functional state tokens (success/error) — never as decoration.

**0.2 Mandatory Visual Devices — 100% CSS (no image files, no inline SVG)**
- **Panels:** content blocks framed with 2–3px solid black borders and hard offset shadows; apply `clip-path: var(--panel-clip)` (trapezoid) to select decorative panels and the primary CTA.
- **Speed lines (beta flash):** radial burst behind the Hero headline and Final CTA — build with `repeating-conic-gradient` plus a radial `mask-image` that keeps the center clear so text stays readable.
- **Halftone screentones:** dot texture via tiled `radial-gradient` (~8–10px cells) on section backdrops, card accents, and the modal backdrop.
- **Impact bursts:** jagged starburst shapes via `clip-path` (e.g., `polygon(50% 0%, 61% 35%, 98% 35%, 68% 57%, 79% 91%, 50% 70%, 21% 91%, 32% 57%, 2% 35%, 39% 35%)`) — frame badges, step numbers, and feature icons.
- **Speech bubbles:** `--radius-lg` bubbles with 2px black borders and CSS pseudo-element tails — used for the hero tagline, "Sensei says" tips, and all testimonials.
- **SFX typography:** rotated words ("DRAW!!", "ZAAN!") in the SFX font, decorative only, `aria-hidden="true"`.
- **Chapter markers:** every section opens with a bordered tag label ("CHAPTER 01 — BEGIN", etc.).
- **Gutters:** generous whitespace between sections; dashed "motion guide" connectors between steps.

**0.3 Copy Voice — write ALL user-facing copy in English**
- Confident, playful sensei voice; short punchy sentences. Required copy anchors (refine wording, preserve meaning):
  - Hero H1: "LEARN MANGA. THE MANGA WAY." — Sub (in a speech bubble): "A complete drawing masterclass taught entirely inside a comic. Read it. Trace it. Draw it."
  - Features: "Ink & Line Control" / "Paneling & Layout" / "Character Acting".
  - Steps: "Study the Panel" → "Trace the Flow" → "Draw Your Own".
  - Pricing tiers: "Rough Sketch" (Free), "Inked" ($12/mo, featured), "Master Sensei" ($29/mo).
  - Final CTA: "READY? PENCILS UP." — Footer sign-off: "~ TO BE CONTINUED ~".

**0.4 Exception Clauses (mandatory architecture rules override the source spec)**
1. The source spec lists Dark Mode as not required — Dark Mode is nonetheless MANDATORY: implement it as an **"Inverted Ink"** night theme (deep-ink paper, white linework), authentic to manga's negative/night-scene printing.
2. The source spec names font 'Manga Temple' — not a Google Font; substitute Google Fonts **Bangers** (display), **Comic Neue** (body), and **Permanent Marker** (SFX/handwritten).
3. The source spec background `#FFFFFF` is forbidden — use paper tone **#fefefe** instead.

## 1. STRICT RULES & ARCHITECTURE

**1.1 CSS-First Architecture & Zero Inline CSS**
- **No Inline CSS:** the `style="..."` attribute is forbidden anywhere in the HTML.
- **Class/ID Selectors Only:** every visual property is applied via classes/IDs defined in `style.css`.
- **Minimal HTML Modifications:** HTML stays semantic and style-agnostic — reskinning the page must require editing `style.css` only. Decorative effects (tails, bursts, halftones) must be pseudo-elements/gradients, never extra markup.

**1.2 CSS Variables & Theme Tokens**
Define in `:root` (light "Paper" theme); override for dark per §1.3.
- **Colors:** `--primary: #000000`, `--secondary: #1A1A1A`, `--bg-primary: #fefefe`, `--bg-secondary: #f5f5f5`, `--text-primary: #000000`, `--text-secondary: #444444`, `--text-success: #1E6B34`, `--text-error: #B3261E`, `--border-default: #000000`, `--border-error: #B3261E`, `--border-success: #1E6B34`, `--screentone: #CCCCCC`.
- **Contrast Pairing:** every light background token pairs with dark text and vice versa — enforced in BOTH themes. Dark overrides: `--bg-primary: #111111`, `--bg-secondary: #1c1c1c`, `--text-primary: #fefefe`, `--text-secondary: #c9c9c9`, `--border-default: #fefefe`, `--primary: #fefefe`, `--screentone: #4a4a4a`, `--text-success: #63D67A`, `--text-error: #FF7A70`. All text/background pairs must pass 4.5:1.
- **Radius & Shadows:** `--radius-sm: 2px`, `--radius-md: 4px`, `--radius-lg: 28px` (speech bubbles), `--shadow-sm: 3px 3px 0 0 var(--primary)`, `--shadow-md: 6px 6px 0 0 var(--primary)` — hard comic offset shadows, NO blur; in dark mode shadows flip to a visible light ink (`#555555`).
- **Spacing & Transitions:** `--spacing-gap: 1.5rem`, `--transition-fast: 120ms`, `--transition-normal: 250ms`, `--ease-standard: cubic-bezier(0.4, 0, 0.2, 1)`.
- **Elevation/Stacking:** `--z-dropdown: 100`, `--z-modal: 1000`, `--z-toast: 2000` — layered components must never collide.
- **Theme extras:** `--panel-clip: polygon(0 0, 100% 0, 95% 100%, 5% 100%)`, `--font-display`, `--font-body`, `--font-sfx` (see §1.6).

**1.3 Mandatory Dark Mode — "Inverted Ink"**
- Provide dark tokens under BOTH `@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark)` (no-JS/first-paint fallback) and explicit `.theme-dark` / `.theme-light` classes on `<html>` declared AFTER the media query so a class always wins.
- **Persistence:** store the choice in `localStorage` (key `panel-one-theme`); first visit falls back to `prefers-color-scheme`. Theme resolution must be the first logic executed in `script.js`.
- **Toggle:** visible header button with a Material Symbols icon (`light_mode` / `dark_mode`), `aria-pressed="true"` when dark, and an `aria-label` reflecting the action ("Switch to Inverted Ink theme" / "Switch to Paper theme"). Set the `color-scheme` property accordingly.
- Halftone dots, speed lines, shadows, and focus rings must invert cleanly — no element may become invisible in dark mode.

**1.4 Flexbox Layout & Mobile-First Alignment**
- Build all layout with Flexbox (Tailwind `flex` utilities or CSS `display: flex`).
- **Default Alignment Rule:** every flex container defaults to `align-items: center` (`items-center`) unless a section explicitly justifies an exception (e.g., `stretch` for equal-height pricing cards — document each exception in a CSS comment).
- **Mobile-Friendly First:** single-column below 768px; multi-column at ≥768px/≥1024px; fluid `clamp()` typography; zero horizontal scrolling from 320px up.

**1.5 Framework & Naming Convention**
- Use **Tailwind CSS (Play CDN)** for layout utilities ONLY (`flex`, `items-center`, `gap-*`, `px-*`, responsive prefixes). Tailwind color utilities are forbidden — every color, border, shadow, and font comes from CSS variables via component classes in `style.css`.
- **Single component convention: BEM** (`.panel`, `.panel__title`, `.btn`, `.btn--primary`, `.faq__item`, `.card--featured`); state classes `.is-loading`, `.is-open`. Never mix conventions; never invent non-BEM custom classes.

**1.6 Typography & Icons (Google Fonts Mandatory)**
- One Google Fonts link: `Bangers` (display), `Comic Neue` 400/700 (body), `Permanent Marker` (SFX). Bind `--font-display: 'Bangers', 'Comic Neue', sans-serif`, `--font-body: 'Comic Neue', sans-serif`, `--font-sfx: 'Permanent Marker', cursive`.
- Include the Google **Material Symbols Outlined** stylesheet; icons render via `<span class="material-symbols-outlined" aria-hidden="true">name</span>`. Filled stars via `font-variation-settings: 'FILL' 1`.
- **Forbidden:** inline SVGs, local icon files, emoji-as-icons, raster images. ALL artwork (speed lines, bursts, halftones, tails) is CSS-only.

## 2. COMPONENT DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

**2.1 Buttons — `.btn`**
- **Default:** `display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: center; gap: 0.5rem;` minimum touch target 44×44px; 2px solid `var(--border-default)`; `var(--shadow-sm)`; uppercase letter-spaced display font. Variants: `.btn--primary` (ink fill, paper text), `.btn--secondary` (paper fill, ink border), `.btn--danger` (error-token fill/border, distinct in BOTH themes).
- **Hover:** shadow grows to `--shadow-md` with a 1px lift; `cursor: pointer`.
- **Focus:** `:focus-visible` ring — `outline: 3px solid var(--primary); outline-offset: 2px` — visible on every background in both themes.
- **Active/Pressed:** `transform: scale(0.97)` with shadow collapse.
- **Loading (`.is-loading`):** pointer events disabled, double-clicks blocked, label swaps to a spinning Material `progress` icon (CSS rotation) WITHOUT changing button dimensions.
- **Disabled (`[disabled]`):** `opacity: 0.5`, grayscale, `cursor: not-allowed`.
- **Success/Error:** `.btn--success` / `.btn--danger` feedback styles driven by `--text-success` / `--text-error`.

**2.2 Cards — `.card` (Manga Panels)**
- **Default:** flexbox layout, `--bg-secondary` fill, 2–3px solid border, `--shadow-sm`; optional `clip-path: var(--panel-clip)` on decorative variants.
- **Hover:** `transform: translateY(-2px)` + shadow grows to `--shadow-md`.
- **Focus-within:** border highlight/ring when a child link or button receives focus.
- **Loading (Skeleton):** `.card--skeleton` shimmer sweep (animated gradient), stable dimensions, no layout jump; disabled under `prefers-reduced-motion`.
- **Empty State:** `.card--empty` — centered Material icon + one-line guidance text.

**2.3 Forms & Inputs — `.input-group`**
- **Structure:** flex column wrapping `<label>`, the field, and a dedicated error container (`aria-live="polite"`).
- **States (all via CSS):** empty; focused (`box-shadow: 0 0 0 3px var(--primary)` ring); filled; valid (success border + `check_circle` icon); invalid (error border + `error` icon + message text — never color alone); disabled; read-only. Inputs: 2px black border, paper fill, 44px min height, `--radius-sm`.
- Used in the Final CTA email capture and the modal signup form.

**2.4 Modal — "Join the Dojo"**
- Hero and Final CTA buttons open a signup dialog: centered flex overlay (`align-items: center; justify-content: center`), halftone-tinted backdrop, panel-styled dialog (3px border, `--shadow-md`), Material `close` icon button (44×44px, `aria-label="Close dialog"`).
- **States:** opening (scale 0.95→1 + fade via `--transition-normal`), open, loading (button spinner while "submitting"), success (check icon + confirmation inside dialog), error (inline message, `role="alert"`), closing (reverse animation).
- **Behavior:** `role="dialog"`, `aria-modal="true"`, `aria-labelledby`; keyboard focus trapped; `Esc` and backdrop click close; focus restored to the trigger; body scroll locked; stacked at `--z-modal`.

---

## 3. CORE UX & MICRO-INTERACTION RULES

- **Responsive by Default:** fluid sizing, breakpoints at 640/768/1024px, no horizontal overflow anywhere.
- **Smooth Animations:** `transition: var(--transition-normal)` on all state changes; `@media (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce)` disables shimmer, spinners, transforms, and entrance animations (speed-line gradients may remain static).
- **Accessibility (a11y):** semantic HTML5 landmarks (`header`, `nav`, `main`, `section` with `aria-labelledby`, `footer`); logical h1→h2→h3 order; visible skip-to-content link; full keyboard operability (no mouse-only interactions); correct ARIA on the theme toggle, FAQ accordion (`aria-expanded`), and modal; `aria-live` regions for form errors, loading, and toasts; ≥4.5:1 contrast in both themes; state is NEVER communicated by color alone (always icon + text).
- **Mandatory Visual Feedback:** every click, hover, focus, and submission produces a visible state change.
- **Destructive Actions:** any destructive control uses `.btn--danger` — visually distinct in both themes.
- **Toast:** success/error feedback via a `--z-toast` toast component (Material icon + text, `aria-live="polite"`, auto-dismiss, reduced-motion safe).

---

## 4. DELIVERABLE & OUTPUT FORMAT

- **File Structure:** three separate files — `index.html`, `style.css`, `script.js`. `script.js` is referenced once with `defer`; NO inline `<script>` blocks, NO inline styles.
- **Naming Convention:** BEM for all components; Tailwind utilities for layout only (§1.5). One convention, zero mixing.
- **Copy:** all user-facing copy in English, real and on-theme per §0.3 — lorem ipsum is forbidden.
- **Completeness:** ship the full page in one attempt — every section in §5, every state in §2, dark mode, persistence, and all interactions functional.

## 5. PAGE STRUCTURE & SECTION-BY-SECTION REQUIREMENTS

**5.1 Header (sticky)**
- Wordmark "PANEL ONE" (display font) with a small impact-burst accent; nav links: Features, Method, Pricing, FAQ (smooth-scroll anchors with `:focus-visible` rings); theme toggle (§1.3); `.btn--primary` "Start Lesson 1" (opens modal).
- Paper background, 3px solid bottom border; sits above content, below `--z-modal`. Below 768px the nav collapses behind a Material `menu` icon button (`aria-expanded`, `--z-dropdown` panel, column layout, `align-items: center`).

**5.2 Hero — "CHAPTER 01: BEGIN"**
- Chapter marker tag; H1 in the display font with fluid `clamp()` sizing; sub-headline inside a speech bubble with tail; two CTAs — `.btn--primary` "Start Lesson 1" (opens modal) and `.btn--secondary` "See the Method" (anchor to §5.4).
- Behind the headline: beta-flash speed-line burst (§0.2) with the center masked clear for readability; a rotated SFX word "DRAW!!" (SFX font, `aria-hidden="true"`); halftone strips along panel edges. Decorative panels may rotate ≤2° — never the text blocks.

**5.3 Features — "CHAPTER 02: THE TOOLS"**
- Section title + one-line intro; 3 `.card` panels in a responsive flex row (column on mobile):
  1. "Ink & Line Control" — icon `draw` — pressure, tapering, confident strokes.
  2. "Paneling & Layout" — icon `grid_view` — gutters, reading flow, page rhythm.
  3. "Character Acting" — icon `theater_comedy` — poses, expressions, emotion lines.
- Each card: icon inside a starburst clip-path, display-font title, 2–3 sentence body; all §2.2 states. On desktop the middle card may sit slightly elevated (`translateY(-6px)`) for dynamic composition.

**5.4 How It Works — "CHAPTER 03: THE METHOD"**
- 3 numbered step panels connected by a dashed motion-guide line (CSS border) on desktop; vertical stack on mobile:
  1. **Study the Panel** — annotated lesson pages break down pro artwork.
  2. **Trace the Flow** — guided tracing drills build muscle memory.
  3. **Draw Your Own** — submit work, receive sensei feedback.
- Each step: oversized number in a burst, title, short body, and a "Sensei says:" speech-bubble tip.

**5.5 Testimonials — "CHAPTER 04: STUDENT WORKS"**
- 3 speech-bubble testimonials (paper fill, `--radius-lg`, pseudo-element tails, 2px border): 5-star rating (Material `star`, FILL variation, `aria-label="Rated 5 out of 5 stars"`), quote, name + role (e.g., "Yuki T. — Webtoon Artist", "Marcus L. — Art Student", "Sana K. — Indie Illustrator").
- Staggered offsets on desktop; centered column on mobile. On first load, render `.card--skeleton` shimmer for ~600ms, then populate (announced via `aria-live`); the simulation is skipped under reduced motion.

**5.6 Pricing — "CHAPTER 05: CHOOSE YOUR PATH"**
- 3 `.card` tiers, equal height (`align-items: stretch` — documented exception to §1.4):
  - **Rough Sketch — Free:** sample lessons, community access; `.btn--secondary` "Start Free".
  - **Inked — $12/mo (featured):** full course, tracing drills, sensei feedback; inverted panel (ink fill, paper text), `--shadow-md`, starburst badge "MOST POPULAR", high-contrast primary CTA.
  - **Master Sensei — $29/mo:** everything plus 1:1 monthly critique; `.btn--secondary` "Go Master".
- Feature lists use Material `check` icons. All buttons implement every §2.1 state.

**5.7 FAQ — "CHAPTER 06: SENSEI ANSWERS"**
- Accordion of 5 real questions (beginner-friendly? materials needed? traditional vs digital? how feedback works? cancel anytime?). Native `<details>/<summary>` or a button+ARIA pattern; `expand_more` chevron rotates 180° on open; smooth height animation; fully keyboard operable; `:focus-visible` rings.

**5.8 Final CTA — "FINAL CHAPTER: YOUR TURN"**
- Full-width panel with a dense speed-line burst; huge display headline "READY? PENCILS UP."; supporting line; inline `.input-group` email capture + `.btn--primary` "Send Me Lesson 1".
- Validation per §2.3 (invalid email → error icon + message + `aria-live`); on success: button loading state → success state, toast "Lesson 01 is on its way!", and inline confirmation text. Never color-only feedback.

**5.9 Footer**
- Inverted ink panel (ink background, paper text — flips in dark mode). Secondary links in two groups — Product (Lessons, Method, Pricing, FAQ) and Support (About, Community, Contact, Privacy, Terms) — each with `:focus-visible` rings and hover underlines. A contact icon row via Material Symbols (`mail`, `rss_feed`, `language`); brand logos are not permitted (no SVG), so use these or plain text links. Copyright line, plus the sign-off "~ TO BE CONTINUED ~" in the SFX font.

---

## 6. DEFINITION OF DONE

- All 9 sections present, semantic, and responsive with no horizontal overflow.
- Zero inline styles; zero inline scripts beyond the single deferred `script.js`; BEM naming throughout.
- Light + "Inverted Ink" dark themes both pass 4.5:1 contrast, with a persistent, ARIA-correct toggle.
- Every component state in §2 is implemented and demonstrable (button loading/disabled, card skeleton/empty, form valid/invalid, modal open/close/success/error).
- All feedback is visible, keyboard-accessible, announced via `aria-live`, and safe under `prefers-reduced-motion`.
