## 1. STRICT RULES & ARCHITECTURE

### 1.1 CSS-First Architecture & Zero Inline CSS
* **No Inline CSS:** The `style="..."` attribute is forbidden anywhere in the HTML.
* **Class/ID Selectors Only:** All design properties, layout rules, and states must be targeted via class or ID selectors in `style.css`.
* **Minimal HTML Modifications:** HTML must remain clean, semantic, and style-agnostic — retheming the page must only require editing `style.css`.

### 1.2 CSS Variables & Theme Tokens
Store all visual tokens in `:root` and override them in the dark theme. Required tokens:

* **Colors (Light):** `--primary: #1A1A1A` (Marker Black), `--secondary: #C4A77D` (Kraft Brown), `--bg-primary: #FAFAF8` (Paper White), `--bg-secondary: #F1EDE3` (aged paper), `--text-primary: #1A1A1A`, `--text-secondary: #4A4A4A` (Pencil Grey), `--text-success: #3E6B4F` (ink green), `--text-error: #B3261E` (marker red), `--border-default: #4A4A4A`, `--border-error: #B3261E`, `--border-success: #3E6B4F`.
* **Colors (Dark):** `--bg-primary: #1E1D1B` (charcoal sketchbook paper), `--bg-secondary: #262521`, `--text-primary: #F4F1E8` (chalk), `--text-secondary: #B9B4A9`, `--primary: #F4F1E8`, `--secondary: #C4A77D` (kraft stays warm), `--text-error: #E57368`, `--text-success: #8FBF9A`, `--border-default: #B9B4A9`.
* **Contrast Pairing:** Every light background token must pair with dark text tokens and every dark background token with light text tokens — enforced in **both** themes. Never use `#ffffff`; the paper tone is `#FAFAF8`. Kraft Brown `#C4A77D` fails body-text contrast on paper backgrounds — restrict it to decorative elements (tape, stickers, borders) and large display text only.
* **Radius & Shadows:** `--radius-sm: 2px`, `--radius-md: 2px`, `--radius-lg: 4px`; `--shadow-sm: 3px 3px 0 var(--border-default)`, `--shadow-md: 6px 6px 0 var(--primary)` — **hard offset shadows with zero blur** (raw/brutalist), never soft diffused shadows.
* **Spacing & Motion:** `--spacing-gap: 1rem`, `--transition-fast: 60ms`, `--transition-normal: 140ms`, `--ease-standard: steps(3, end)`.
* **Elevation:** `--z-dropdown: 10`, `--z-modal: 100`, `--z-toast: 200`.

### 1.3 Mandatory Dark Mode Support
* Define dark tokens under **both** `@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark)` and a `.dark` class on `<html>`.
* Persist the user's choice in `localStorage` (fallback to `prefers-color-scheme` on first visit) via `script.js`.
* Include a visible theme toggle in the header using a Google Material Symbol (`dark_mode` / `light_mode`) with correct `aria-pressed` and `aria-label` state.
* Dark mode is a **charcoal sketchbook**: chalk strokes on dark paper, warm kraft tape, inverted pencil marks — fully art-directed, not just inverted colors.

### 1.4 Flexbox Layout & Mobile-First Alignment
* Build all layout structures with Flexbox.
* **Every flex container must default to `align-items: center`** unless an exception is explicitly justified in a CSS comment (e.g., vertical step stacks may use `stretch`).
* Mobile-first: rows convert to columns on small viewports; **no horizontal scrolling at 320px**.

### 1.5 Styling Approach
* No CSS framework. Write hand-authored CSS in `style.css`, organized with `@layer tokens, base, layout, components, utilities` (Tailwind-style layering), driven by the variables above and generic reusable classes (`.btn`, `.card`, `.input-group`).

### 1.6 Typography & Icons (Google Fonts Mandatory)
* **Fonts:** Google Fonts only — `Permanent Marker` (display/headings), `Kalam` (body), `Caveat` (handwritten margin annotations). Load via `<link>` in `<head>`; bind to `--font-display`, `--font-base`, `--font-accent`.
* **Icons:** Google Material Symbols only. Raw inline SVG icons and local icon files are forbidden.
* **Theme Exception:** Hand-drawn **decorative** SVG assets (wobbly borders, scribble underlines, paper-grain `feTurbulence` data-URIs) are permitted as CSS-referenced backgrounds for this theme — they are decorative textures, not icons; every functional icon must still be a Material Symbol.

### 1.7 Self-Contained Assets
* Do **not** reference external image files (no `paper-texture.png`). Synthesize paper grain, ink splatters, and tape textures purely in CSS (layered radial/repeating gradients and/or the permitted SVG data-URI grain), applied as a fixed low-opacity `body::before` overlay with `pointer-events: none`, present in both themes.

## 2. COMPONENT DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

### 2.1 Button Component (`.btn`, `.btn--primary`, `.btn--secondary`, `.btn--danger`)
* **Default:** `display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: center; gap: 0.5rem;` minimum touch target 44×44px; hand-drawn border + hard offset shadow.
* **Hover:** Abrupt shift — `translate(-1px, -1px)` with shadow growth and a tiny rotate jitter; `cursor: pointer`.
* **Focus-visible:** Dashed pencil ring — `outline: 2px dashed var(--border-default); outline-offset: 3px`.
* **Active/Pressed:** `translate(2px, 2px)` with shadow collapse — a "stamped" feel.
* **Loading:** `[aria-busy="true"]` disables interaction, prevents double-clicks, and shows a CSS spinner or rotating Material Symbol `progress` without changing button dimensions.
* **Disabled:** `opacity: 0.5`, grayscale filter, `cursor: not-allowed`.
* **Success/Error:** Temporary `.btn--success` / `.btn--error` states driven by `--text-success` / `--text-error`, always paired with an icon and/or text — never color alone.

### 2.2 Card Component (`.card`)
* **Default:** Flexible flexbox layout, `--bg-secondary` fill, hand-drawn border, kraft "tape" corner via `::before` (semi-transparent, slightly rotated).
* **Hover:** `translateY(-2px)` plus shadow growth (stepped motion).
* **Focus-within:** Border shifts to `--secondary` when a child link/button receives focus.
* **Loading (Skeleton):** `.card--skeleton` shimmer defined in CSS, preserving exact dimensions.
* **Empty State:** `.card--empty` fallback with a Material Symbol and guidance text.
* **Collage Imperfection:** Apply small varied rotations via `:nth-child()` (e.g., `-1deg`, `0.75deg`, `-0.5deg`) — CSS cannot do "random", so distribute fixed rotations across children.

### 2.3 Form & Input Requirements (`.input-group`)
* **Structure:** Flex container wrapping a `<label>`, the `<input>`, and a dedicated error/feedback element with `aria-live="polite"`.
* **States:** Empty, focused (dashed ring), filled, valid (success border + `check` icon), invalid (error border, red text, `error` icon), disabled, read-only — all via classes/attributes, never inline styles.

### 2.4 FAQ Accordion (`.accordion`)
* Native `<button>` triggers with `aria-expanded`, `aria-controls`; panels with `role="region"` and `aria-labelledby`, hidden when closed.
* Material Symbol `expand_more` rotates 180° in stepped motion.
* Fully keyboard operable with visible focus; no mouse-only interaction.

### 2.5 Scope Guard
* Do not add modals, carousels, or any component beyond the sections listed below.

## 3. CORE UX & MICRO-INTERACTION RULES

* **Responsive by Default:** Fluid sizing, no horizontal overflow.
* **Theme Exception (motion):** Smooth easing is replaced by abrupt, hand-made motion — all state changes use `steps()` easing with short durations (60–150ms). Every state change must still be **clearly visible**.
* **Sketch Reveal:** Sections reveal on scroll via an `.is-visible` class added by `IntersectionObserver` (opacity/clip-path, stepped). **Jitter and reveal animations must be disabled under `prefers-reduced-motion`.**
* **Scanned Look:** Subtle `grayscale()` / `contrast()` filters on decorative layers only — never on text.
* **Accessibility:** Body-text contrast ≥ 4.5:1 in both modes; never rely on color alone; semantic HTML5 landmarks (`header`, `nav`, `main`, `section`, `article`, `footer`); logical focus order; a skip link; `aria-live` regions for form feedback.
* **Mandatory Visual Feedback:** Every click, hover, and submission triggers a visible state change.
* **Destructive Actions:** `.btn--danger` must be visually distinct in both themes.

---

## 4. DELIVERABLE & OUTPUT FORMAT

* **Files:** Separate `index.html`, `style.css`, `script.js`. Only one `<script src="script.js" defer>` in `<head>` — no inline script blocks.
* **Naming:** BEM (`block__element--modifier`) exclusively; never mix conventions.
* **Copy:** No lorem ipsum. Invent one coherent fictional brand (e.g., an indie sketchbook/design tool that celebrates the unfinished creative process) and write **all user-facing copy in English**, in an authentic, human, slightly imperfect voice that matches the anti-polish theme.

## 5. SECTION-BY-SECTION BUILD SPEC

**Header (sticky):** Brand wordmark (Permanent Marker), anchor nav (Features, How It Works, Testimonials, Pricing, FAQ), theme toggle. On mobile, nav wraps/stacks via CSS only.

1. **Hero:** Oversized marker headline with a wavy hand-drawn underline (pseudo-element), Kalam subcopy, two CTAs (`.btn--primary` + `.btn--secondary`), collage layer of taped cards, Caveat margin annotations, ink-splatter radial-gradient accents, sketch-reveal on load.
2. **Features (3 cards):** Each `.card` with a Material Symbol icon inside a scribbled circle, title, copy, tape corner, nth-child rotations.
3. **How It Works (3 steps):** Numbered hand-drawn badges (Permanent Marker), dashed pencil connector line, vertical stack on mobile.
4. **Testimonials (3 quotes):** Quote cards with Material Symbol `format_quote`, name + role, sticker/tape accents, slight rotations.
5. **Pricing (3 tiers):** Middle tier highlighted with a rotated kraft "MOST POPULAR" sticker; feature lists use Material Symbols `check` / `close`; per-tier CTA buttons with full state styling.
6. **FAQ:** 5–6 accordion items per Section 2.4.
7. **Final CTA:** Big marker headline + `.input-group` email capture + `.btn--primary` demonstrating loading → success/error feedback with an `aria-live` status message.
8. **Footer:** Secondary link columns (Product / Company / Resources), Material Symbol social links, copyright line, and a small Caveat annotation (e.g., a "made by hand" note).

Every section needs an accessible heading (`aria-labelledby` on the section). The result must be complete and runnable as-is.
