## 1. STRICT RULES & ARCHITECTURE

**1.1 CSS-First Architecture & Zero Inline CSS**
* All styling must live in a dedicated `style.css` file. The `style="..."` attribute is **forbidden** anywhere in the HTML.
* All design properties, layout rules, and states must be targeted exclusively via class or ID selectors.
* HTML must remain clean, semantic, and style-agnostic — changing the entire look of the site must require editing only `style.css`, never the markup.

**1.2 CSS Variables (`var(--...)`) & Theme Tokens**
* Store every visual token in `:root`; theme overrides must live under a `.dark` class selector and/or `@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark)`.
* **Required tokens:** `--primary`, `--secondary`, `--accent`, `--bg-primary`, `--bg-secondary`, `--text-primary`, `--text-secondary`, `--text-success`, `--text-error`, `--border-default`, `--border-error`, `--border-success`, `--radius-sm`, `--radius-md`, `--radius-lg`, `--radius-full`, `--shadow-sm`, `--shadow-md`, `--spacing-gap`, `--transition-fast`, `--transition-normal`, `--ease-standard`, `--z-dropdown`, `--z-modal`, `--z-toast`, plus theme-specific glass tokens: `--glass-bg`, `--glass-border`, `--glass-blur`, `--font-base`, `--font-display`.
* Suggested values: `--radius-sm: 10px; --radius-md: 18px; --radius-lg: 28px; --radius-full: 999px; --transition-fast: 150ms; --transition-normal: 300ms; --ease-standard: cubic-bezier(0.22, 1, 0.36, 1); --spacing-gap: clamp(1.25rem, 3vw, 2rem); --z-dropdown: 100; --z-modal: 200; --z-toast: 300;`
* **Light mode palette (default):** `--primary: #FFB23E` (daylight amber), `--secondary: #B892FF` (liquid violet), `--accent: #5EEAD4` (glacier teal), `--bg-primary: #FFF9F0` (warm daylight — do **not** use pure white; if a near-white is ever needed use `#fefefe`, never `#ffffff`), `--bg-secondary: #F6EEDF` (warm sand), `--text-primary: #1B1230` (midnight ink), `--text-secondary: #4A3B66`, `--text-success: #0E8F6B`, `--text-error: #D93A3A`, `--border-default: rgba(27,18,48,0.10)`, `--glass-bg: rgba(255,255,255,0.55)`, `--glass-border: rgba(255,255,255,0.65)`, `--glass-blur: 18px`.
* **Dark mode palette:** `--bg-primary: #1B1230`, `--bg-secondary: #221533`, `--text-primary: #FFF9F0`, `--text-secondary: rgba(255,249,240,0.72)`, `--text-error: #FF6B6B`, `--text-success: #34D399`, `--border-default: rgba(255,255,255,0.12)`, `--glass-bg: rgba(34,21,51,0.50)`, `--glass-border: rgba(255,255,255,0.14)`. Brand colors `#FFB23E`, `#B892FF`, `#5EEAD4` remain unchanged (they pass contrast on both backgrounds).
* **Contrast pairing is mandatory in every theme:** light backgrounds pair with dark text (`#FFF9F0` ↔ `#1B1230`), dark backgrounds pair with light text (`#1B1230` ↔ `#FFF9F0`). Verify at least 4.5:1 for body text and 3:1 for large text in **both** modes.

**1.3 Mandatory Dark Mode Support**
* **Exception clause:** the brief marks Light as the requested default (✓ Light / ○ Dark) — light mode must load first. This does **not** exempt you from the mandatory rule: dark mode must still be **fully implemented** with a complete token set, not an afterthought.
* Provide dark tokens under both `@media (prefers-color-scheme: dark)` and a `.dark` class on `<html>`, so background and text variables switch seamlessly with zero HTML restructuring.
* Theme choice must persist via `localStorage` (key `noon-theme`), falling back to `prefers-color-scheme` on first visit. A visible toggle control must sit in the navbar with correct `aria-pressed` and `aria-label` ("Toggle dark mode"), swapping Google Material Symbols `light_mode` / `dark_mode` icons.

**1.4 Layout — CSS Grid + Flexbox, Mobile-First**
* Use **CSS Grid** for macro layouts (hero composition, card grids, footer columns) per the theme requirement; use **Flexbox** for all component internals.
* **Every flex container must default to `align-items: center`** unless there is an explicitly justified exception (e.g., vertical form stacks use `align-items: stretch` — the only permitted exception).
* Build mobile-first: all multi-column grids collapse to a single column on small viewports; no horizontal scrolling at any width; fluid sizing via `clamp()`.

**1.5 Styling Approach**
* Use clean, hand-authored custom CSS organized in Tailwind-style `@layer` blocks (`@layer tokens, base, layout, components, utilities`) in `style.css`. All utility/component classes must map back to CSS variables or generic reusable class names (`.btn`, `.card`, `.input-group`, `.glass`, `.nav`).

**1.6 Typography & Icons (Google Fonts Mandatory)**
* Load Google Fonts via `<link>`: **'Unbounded'** (weights 500/700) bound to `--font-display` for the wordmark and headings; **'Inter'** (400/500/600) bound to `--font-base` for body copy.
* Load **Google Material Symbols Rounded** via `<link>` stylesheet and use it for **every icon**. Raw inline SVGs, local icon files, and emoji-as-icons are **forbidden**. Configure `font-variation-settings` for filled variants where needed (e.g., filled stars).

## 2. THEME SPECIFICATION — "NOON — drink the daylight" (Glassmorphism)

**2.1 The Glass Recipe (reusable `.glass` / `.glass-card`)**
* `background: var(--glass-bg);` layered with a subtle top-to-bottom translucent gradient; `backdrop-filter: blur(var(--glass-blur)) saturate(160%);` with the required `-webkit-backdrop-filter` prefix; `border: 1px solid var(--glass-border); border-radius: var(--radius-lg);` plus `box-shadow: var(--shadow-md), inset 0 1px 0 rgba(255,255,255,0.35)` for the liquid neumorphic top highlight. Because all values are token-driven, dark mode adapts automatically.

**2.2 Daylight Aurora Background**
* Behind all content, render three absolutely-positioned, `aria-hidden` orbs (`.orb--amber`, `.orb--violet`, `.orb--teal`) as radial gradients in the three brand colors, softened with `filter: blur(60px)` and `mix-blend-mode`, animated by distinct `@keyframes` float/drift loops (18–30s, alternate, infinite). In dark mode, brighten the orbs via blend modes for a night-sky glow. Optionally add a faint grid overlay using `repeating-linear-gradient` faded with a CSS radial `mask-image`.

**2.3 Chrome Text Effect**
* The hero headline and wordmark use a chrome gradient: `linear-gradient(120deg, #FFB23E, #B892FF 45%, #5EEAD4)` with `background-clip: text; color: transparent;` plus a soft `text-shadow`/`drop-shadow` glow on hover. **Gradient text is permitted only at display sizes (≥ 2.5rem)** to protect contrast; body text always uses solid `--text-primary` / `--text-secondary`.

**2.4 Required Visual Effects**
* **Blur & glass:** per §2.1. **Glow:** colored `box-shadow` glows (amber/violet) on hover for buttons, featured pricing card, and CTA panel. **Gradients:** buttons, badges, step connectors, and the aurora. **3D/Parallax:** hero orbs and glass chips drift with mouse-move and scroll parallax via `transform: translate3d(...)` (JS-gated, see §6). **Hover effects:** cards lift (`translateY(-2px)`) with intensified glow; primary buttons get a shine-sweep pseudo-element animated across the surface, clipped by the border radius. **Neumorphism:** soft dual `box-shadow` treatment on the theme toggle and icon tiles. Use blend modes, transforms, masks, `aspect-ratio`, and keyframe animations as listed — all defined in CSS.

**2.5 Motion Discipline**
* Every state change animates with `transition: var(--transition-normal) var(--ease-standard)`. All ambient, parallax, and entrance animations **must** be disabled under `@media (prefers-reduced-motion: reduce)`.

---

## 3. COMPONENT DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

**3.1 Buttons (`.btn` + modifiers `.btn--primary`, `.btn--ghost`, `.btn--success`, `.btn--error`, `.btn-danger`)**
* **Default:** `display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: center; gap: 0.5rem;` minimum 44×44px touch target, pill radius, Material Symbol icon support. Primary uses the brand gradient with `#1B1230` ink text; ghost uses the glass recipe.
* **Hover:** brightness/glow shift, `cursor: pointer`. **Focus:** distinct focus ring via `outline`/`box-shadow` using CSS variables. **Active:** `transform: scale(0.97)`.
* **Loading (`.btn--loading`):** disables interaction and double-clicks; renders a CSS spinner or rotating Material Symbol **without distorting button dimensions** (reserve label width).
* **Disabled:** `opacity: 0.5; filter: grayscale(0.6); cursor: not-allowed;`.
* **Success/Error:** temporary feedback states driven by `--text-success` / `--text-error`. Also define `.btn-danger` in the design system (visually distinct red in both themes), even if unused on this page.

**3.2 Glass Cards (`.card`)**
* **Default:** flexible flexbox, glass recipe, `--bg-secondary`/glass tokens, subtle border + elevation. **Hover:** lift + glow shift. **Focus-within:** border highlights when a child link/button receives focus. **Loading:** define a shimmer `.skeleton` keyframe utility in the system. **Empty state:** only if a genuinely empty dynamic area exists; otherwise omit.

**3.3 Forms & Inputs (used by the Final CTA email capture)**
* Structure: a flex container (`flex-direction: column; align-items: stretch` — the documented exception) wrapping a `<label>`, the input field, and a dedicated error/success feedback element wired to `aria-live="polite"` and `aria-describedby`.
* Style all states via classes: empty, focused (outline ring using `--primary`), filled, valid (`--border-success` + check icon), invalid (`--border-error`, red text, error icon — never color alone), disabled, read-only. Invalid inputs set `aria-invalid="true"`.

**3.4 FAQ Accordion**
* Each item: a `<h3>` wrapping a `<button aria-expanded aria-controls>`, plus a panel `role="region"`. Animate open/close purely in CSS using the `grid-template-rows: 0fr → 1fr` technique; rotate a `expand_more` Material Symbol on the toggle. Fully keyboard operable.

**3.5 Overlays**
* No modal is required. **If** you implement a mobile menu overlay, it must follow modal rules: glass backdrop, centered/aligned flex container, Esc and overlay-click close, focus trapping, and correct ARIA attributes.

## 4. SECTION-BY-SECTION BUILD PLAN

All sections sit inside a centered `max-width: 72rem` container, carry `scroll-margin-top: 96px`, and reveal on scroll (fade + `translateY`) via IntersectionObserver. Write **real, original English marketing copy** for NOON — a sun-brewed sparkling drink brand; lorem ipsum is prohibited anywhere.

**4.0 Skip Link & Sticky Navbar** — First element: a visually hidden "Skip to content" link. Sticky glass navbar: wordmark "NOON", anchor links (Features, How It Works, Pricing, FAQ), the dark-mode toggle, and a primary CTA "Shop NOON". Add a scrolled state (`.is-scrolled`) that deepens blur/shadow. On mobile, links may collapse behind an accessible hamburger overlay (per §3.5) or remain minimal — your call, but no layout breakage.

**4.1 Hero** — Two-column CSS Grid (single column on mobile). Left: an eyebrow glass chip with a `wb_sunny` icon, an `h1` ("Drink the daylight." with the chrome gradient on "daylight"), one-sentence subcopy, dual CTAs (primary → anchors to pricing, ghost → anchors to how-it-works), and a row of three small glass stat chips (e.g., "0 sugar crash", "100% DV vitamin D", "Glass-bottled"). Right: an abstract CSS-built "bottle in light" visual — a glass panel with an `aspect-ratio`, layered gradients, and a floating glass badge — parallax-animated. One `h1` only.

**4.2 Features — 3 Glass Cards** — CSS Grid `repeat(3, 1fr)` → 1 column. Each card: a neumorphic icon tile (Material Symbols: `wb_sunny`, `water_drop`, `bolt`), an `h3` (e.g., "Solar-Brewed", "Liquid Hydration", "Steady Golden Energy"), and 2 lines of copy. Hover lift + glow; focus-within highlights.

**4.3 How It Works — 3 Steps** — Three glass panels numbered 01/02/03, connected by a gradient line (horizontal desktop → vertical mobile). Steps: "Brewed at solar noon", "Bottled in liquid glass", "Drink the daylight", each with an icon, short title, and one supporting sentence.

**4.4 Testimonials** — CSS Grid of 3 glass cards: a 5-star row (filled `star` Material Symbols), an original quote, and an avatar circle built from a brand-gradient circle with the person's initials, name, and role/city (invented but realistic, e.g., "Marathon runner, Lisbon").

**4.5 Pricing — 3 Tiers** — Cards named "Dawn" (single bottle), "High Noon" (12-pack), "Golden Hour" (subscription). The middle tier is featured: elevated glow, gradient border, a "Most Popular" glass badge, slight scale-up on desktop. Each card: price with per-unit note, 4–5 features with `check` icons, and a CTA (featured = primary button, others = ghost). Realistic prices and feature copy required.

**4.6 FAQ — 5–6 Items** — Real questions and answers about ingredients, caffeine/vitamin D content, shipping, glass recycling, and subscription cancellation, per §3.4.

**4.7 Final CTA** — A large glass panel with a violet/amber glow behind it: `h2` (e.g., "Your golden hour is waiting."), supporting sentence, and the email capture form per §3.3 with a "Join the Noon List" primary button. Submitting triggers the button loading state (~1.2s simulated), then a success state and an `aria-live` confirmation message; invalid emails trigger the invalid state with a visible error message.

**4.8 Footer** — Brand column (wordmark + tagline + short description) plus three columns of secondary links (Explore: anchors; Company: About, Careers, Press; Support: Contact, Shipping, Returns — links may use `href="#"` with real labels). Social links must be accessible labeled text links (Material Symbols only, no SVG brand icons). Bottom bar: copyright with dynamic year and legal links.

---

## 5. CORE UX & ACCESSIBILITY RULES

* **Responsive by default:** fluid type/spacing via `clamp()`, no horizontal overflow, all grids collapse on mobile.
* **Accessibility:** semantic HTML5 landmarks (`header`, `nav`, `main`, `section`, `footer`), logical heading hierarchy (one `h1`), sections labeled via `aria-labelledby`, visible focus rings, full keyboard operability (no mouse-only interactions), `aria-live` for all dynamic feedback (form, theme), and never color alone to communicate state. Maintain contrast in **both** light and dark modes, including text over translucent glass (keep glass alpha high enough to preserve contrast).
* **Mandatory visual feedback:** every hover, click, focus, and submission produces a visible state change.
* All transitions/animations respect `prefers-reduced-motion`.

---

## 6. JAVASCRIPT REQUIREMENTS (`script.js`)

* Single file, loaded once via `<script src="script.js" defer>`. **No inline script blocks, no inline event handlers** — all wiring via `addEventListener`.
* Implement: (1) theme manager with `localStorage` persistence, `prefers-color-scheme` fallback, `aria-pressed` sync, icon swap; (2) navbar scrolled state; (3) FAQ accordion with ARIA sync; (4) smooth anchor scrolling respecting reduced motion; (5) hero mouse/scroll parallax — only on `pointer: fine` devices and only when `prefers-reduced-motion: no-preference` matches; (6) reveal-on-scroll via `IntersectionObserver`; (7) email form handling with validation, loading → success/error flow, and `aria-live` status updates; (8) mobile menu, if implemented, with focus trap and Esc handling; (9) dynamic copyright year.

---

## 7. DELIVERABLE & OUTPUT FORMAT

* **Files:** separate `index.html`, `style.css`, `script.js`. No styling or scripting logic in the HTML beyond the single deferred script reference and Google Fonts/Material Symbols `<link>` tags.
* **Naming:** one consistent **BEM** convention (`block__element--modifier`) across the entire deliverable — never mix conventions.
* **Copy:** all user-facing copy written in **English**, brand-appropriate for NOON, fully finished. Placeholders are permitted only for genuinely unspecified content (e.g., social URLs).
* Produce the complete landing page **on this first attempt** — no partial builds, no follow-up questions unless a mandatory rule is technically impossible to satisfy.
