## 1. STRICT RULES & ARCHITECTURE

**1.1 CSS-First Architecture & Zero Inline CSS**
- All styling lives in `style.css`. The `style="..."` attribute is **forbidden** anywhere in `index.html`.
- Target every element via class or ID selectors only.
- Keep HTML semantic and style-agnostic: reskinning the page must require editing CSS only, never markup.
- Build all decorative HUD elements (corner brackets, crosshairs, scanlines, ticks, connector lines, data bars) with CSS borders, pseudo-elements, and gradients — no raster images, no icon glyphs as decoration. Every purely decorative node carries `aria-hidden="true"`.

**1.2 CSS Variables & Theme Tokens**
Define all tokens in `:root` (dark = canonical) and override in `[data-theme="light"]`:

- **Dark (default):** `--primary: #00FFFF; --secondary: #0080FF; --alert: #FF0000; --bg-primary: #030608; --bg-secondary: #0A1118; --panel-bg: rgba(0,0,0,0.8); --text-primary: #DFF7FF; --text-secondary: #8FB8C6; --text-success: #00FF9C; --text-error: #FF5C5C; --border-default: rgba(0,255,255,0.5); --border-subtle: rgba(0,255,255,0.25); --border-error: rgba(255,0,0,0.7); --border-success: rgba(0,255,156,0.6); --grid-line: #333333; --glow-cyan: 0 0 5px rgba(0,255,255,0.8); --glow-blue: 0 0 8px rgba(0,128,255,0.6); --radius-sm: 2px; --radius-md: 2px; --radius-lg: 4px; --shadow-sm: 0 0 8px rgba(0,255,255,0.15); --shadow-md: 0 0 20px rgba(0,255,255,0.3); --spacing-gap: 1.5rem; --transition-fast: 120ms; --transition-normal: 250ms; --ease-standard: cubic-bezier(0.2,0.8,0.2,1); --z-header: 900; --z-dropdown: 1000; --z-modal: 2000; --z-toast: 3000; --font-display: 'Orbitron', 'Share Tech Mono', monospace; --font-base: 'Share Tech Mono', 'Courier New', monospace;`
- **Light ("Daylight Ops") overrides:** `--primary: #0066CC; --secondary: #004C99; --bg-primary: #EEF3F6` (cool near-white — never `#ffffff`; use `#fefefe` only if a white surface is truly unavoidable); `--bg-secondary: #E3EBF0; --text-primary: #0A141B; --text-secondary: #3E5A68; --text-error: #C40000; --border-default: rgba(0,102,204,0.45); --grid-line: #C9D4DA; --glow-cyan: none; --glow-blue: none; --shadow-sm/--shadow-md: soft neutral shadows rgba(10,30,50,0.15)`.
- **Contrast pairing is mandatory per theme:** dark backgrounds pair with light/cyan text; light backgrounds pair with dark text. Every foreground/background pair must pass WCAG AA (≥4.5:1 body text, ≥3:1 large text and UI borders). `#FF0000` is reserved for decorative borders, glows, and markers; readable error text uses `--text-error`.
- All borders are 1px ("fine line drawing"). Corner chamfers via `clip-path` are allowed; radii come only from the radius tokens. Glows are decorative: apply `--glow-cyan` to headings, labels, and UI accents only — never body paragraphs.

**1.3 Mandatory Dark Mode Support**
- Dark is this theme's canonical mode; tune every effect for dark first.
- Implement switching via a `[data-theme]` attribute on `<html>` (serving the role of a `.dark` class): default/`:root` = dark tokens; `[data-theme="light"]` applies the light overrides. Add a `@media (prefers-color-scheme: light)` block that activates light tokens only when no explicit `data-theme` is set (no-JS fallback).
- `script.js` (the single deferred entry point) must apply the persisted theme in its **first synchronous statements**. Persistence via `localStorage` key `"hud-theme"`; first visit falls back to `prefers-color-scheme`.
- Visible toggle control in the header: Material Symbols `dark_mode`/`light_mode` icon with correct `aria-pressed` and a dynamically updated `aria-label` ("Switch to light mode" / "Switch to dark mode").
- Set `color-scheme: dark` / `light` alongside each theme so native controls and scrollbars match.
- Light mode must degrade effects gracefully: glows off, grid lines lightened, scanlines subtle — never leave dark-tuned glows on a light background.

**1.4 Flexbox Layout & Mobile-First Alignment**
- Build all structural layout with Flexbox: header, section interiors, card rows (flex-wrap), steps, footer columns, button internals.
- **Every flex container defaults to `align-items: center`.** Any deviation must be an explicitly justified exception marked with a CSS comment (`/* exception: … */`). Sanctioned exceptions: `.input-group` (column, `align-items: stretch`), long-form text blocks inside panels (`flex-start` for reading alignment), accordion answer text.
- Use `var(--spacing-gap)` as the standard flex gap. Mobile-first: single column at base; wrap into rows at ≥768px; refine at ≥1024px/≥1280px. **No horizontal scrolling at any width down to 320px** — audit fixed decorations, tickers, and glows for overflow; clip or hide the viewport frame below 480px.

**1.5 Styling Stack**
- Use **clean, hand-written custom CSS driven by Tailwind-style cascade layering**: organize `style.css` as `@layer tokens, base, components, sections, utilities`. No external CSS framework, no build tools — the page must run by opening `index.html`.
- All component classes map exclusively to the tokens: `.btn` (+ `.btn--primary/--ghost/--danger`), `.hud-panel` (+ `.hud-panel--featured`), `.input-group`, `.nav`, `.ticker`, `.faq-item`, etc.

**1.6 Typography & Icons (Google Fonts Mandatory)**
- Load via `<link>` with `preconnect`: **Orbitron** (500, 700) for display headings, numerals, and prices; **Share Tech Mono** (400) as the base body/UI face. Bind them to `--font-display` / `--font-base`.
- **Exception clause (theme spec requests `font-family: monospace`):** satisfy it through the mandatory Google Fonts — `Share Tech Mono` with `monospace` generic fallbacks. Never rely on system monospace alone.
- Icons: **Google Material Symbols (Outlined)** via `<link>` for all icons — theme toggle, menu, feature icons, pricing check/close, FAQ chevrons, form valid/error, social links, close buttons.
- **Forbidden:** inline SVGs, local icon files, emoji-as-icons, any other icon font.
- Decorative glyphs (brackets, `+` crosshairs, corner ticks) are CSS-generated, never icons.

## 2. COMPONENT DESIGN SPECIFICATIONS

**2.1 Button Component (`.btn`)**
- **Default:** `display: flex; align-items: center; justify-content: center; gap: 0.5rem;` minimum touch target 44×44px; 1px `var(--border-default)`; transparent background (`.btn--ghost`) or `var(--primary)` fill paired with `--bg-primary` text (`.btn--primary`); `.btn--danger` uses the alert-red family and must be visually distinct in **both** themes.
- **Hover:** brightness/glow shift plus a subtle one-shot scan sweep across the button; `cursor: pointer`.
- **Focus:** distinct `:focus-visible` ring via `outline: 2px solid var(--primary); outline-offset: 2px` plus glow — clearly visible in dark and light.
- **Active:** `transform: scale(0.97)`.
- **Loading (`.is-loading` + `aria-busy="true"`):** blocks interaction and double-clicks; renders a CSS spinner (conic-gradient ring) or rotating Material Symbol `progress`; button dimensions must not change.
- **Disabled (`[disabled]`):** `opacity: 0.5`, grayscale, `cursor: not-allowed`, removed from pointer and keyboard activation.
- **Success/Error (`.is-success` / `.is-error`):** temporary feedback — border, label, and icon switch to `--text-success` / `--text-error` with paired Material icons; never communicate via color alone.

**2.2 Card Component (`.hud-panel`)** — used by Features, Testimonials, Pricing
- **Default:** flex column; `background: var(--panel-bg)` (dark) / `var(--bg-secondary)` (light); 1px `var(--border-subtle)`; decorative L-shaped corner brackets via pseudo-elements; optional header slot with a mono index label (`MODULE // 01`) and blinking status marker.
- **Hover (interactive cards):** border brightens to `var(--border-default)`, `box-shadow: var(--shadow-md)` glow, `transform: translateY(-2px)`; a scanline sweeps the panel once.
- **Focus-within:** border and bracket colors highlight when a child link/button receives focus.
- **Loading (skeleton):** `.is-loading` shimmer animation (gradient sweep) with fixed `min-height`s to prevent layout shift.
- **Empty state:** `.is-empty` — centered Material Symbol plus short guidance text ("NO TELEMETRY AVAILABLE").

**2.3 Form & Input (`.input-group`)** — required in the Final CTA email capture
- **Structure:** flex-column wrapper (documented `align-items: stretch` exception) containing `<label>`, `<input type="email">`, and a dedicated error message element with `aria-live="polite"`.
- **States — all class-driven:** empty; focused (cyan/blue ring + glow); filled; valid (`.is-valid`: success border + check icon); invalid (`.is-error`: `--border-error`, `--text-error` message + error icon); disabled; read-only. Validation runs in `script.js`; no browser-default styling.

**2.4 Modal / Popup (conditional)**
- The FAQ **must be an accordion, not modals**. If you introduce any dialog (e.g., pricing plan confirmation), it must: use `<dialog>` (or `role="dialog"` + `aria-modal="true"`); animate Opening/Open/Closing states via CSS transitions (opacity + scale); sit in a centered fixed flex overlay (`align-items: center`) with an `rgba(0,0,0,0.8)` backdrop; include a Material Symbols close button; support `Esc` and overlay-click close; trap focus and return it on close; stack at `var(--z-modal)`; support internal loading/success/error feedback.

---

## 3. CORE UX & MICRO-INTERACTION RULES

- **Responsive by default:** fluid `clamp()` typography and spacing; breakpoints at 640/768/1024/1280px; zero horizontal overflow at 320px.
- **Smooth animations:** every state change transitions with `var(--transition-normal) var(--ease-standard)` (`--transition-fast` for micro-interactions); animate only `transform` and `opacity`.
- **Mandatory HUD effects:**
  - **Glow:** `text-shadow: var(--glow-cyan)` on headings/labels; `box-shadow` glows on key borders.
  - **Scanning:** a 1px gradient scanline sweeping the hero panel on a 4–6s loop, plus hover-triggered sweeps on interactive panels.
  - **Ticker:** an infinite horizontal status ticker (duplicated track, `translateX(-50%)` keyframes, `aria-hidden` duplicate copy); pauses on hover/focus; renders as static text under reduced motion.
  - **Blinking markers:** status dots/squares pulsing with stepped opacity (e.g., `steps(2)`), always paired with a text label.
  - **Fine line drawing:** 1px borders throughout, corner brackets, `+` crosshair markers at section edges, and an animated connector line in How It Works that draws in on reveal.
- **Scroll reveals:** `IntersectionObserver` toggles `.is-visible` (fade + slight translateY, staggered); all content must be fully visible without JS.
- **Reduced motion:** under `prefers-reduced-motion: reduce`, disable ticker, scan, blink, draw-in, and spinner rotation; keep state changes as instant color/opacity shifts.
- **Accessibility (a11y):** AA contrast in both modes; state never conveyed by color alone; semantic landmarks (`header`, `nav`, `main`, `section[aria-labelledby]`, `footer`); a skip-to-content link; logical DOM/focus order; full keyboard operability (nav, mobile menu, theme toggle, accordion, form, CTAs); `aria-live` regions for form results and dynamic status; Material icons are `aria-hidden="true"` unless meaningful — then `role="img"` + `aria-label`.
- **Mandatory visual feedback:** every click, hover, focus, and submission produces a visible response.
- **Danger styling:** `.btn--danger` and destructive accents remain distinct in both themes.
- **Performance:** no layout-thrashing animations; throttle JS telemetry updates (~1s); avoid oversized blurs.

---

## 4. DELIVERABLE & OUTPUT FORMAT

- **Files:** exactly `index.html`, `style.css`, `script.js`. One `<script src="script.js" defer></script>` reference only — no inline script blocks, no other scripts.
- **Naming:** BEM exclusively (`block__element--modifier`), e.g., `.hero__title`, `.hud-panel__index`, `.pricing__tier--featured`. Never mix conventions.
- **Head:** Google Fonts + Material Symbols links with `preconnect`, `<title>`, meta description, `theme-color` for both modes, `<html lang="en">`.
- **Copy:** all user-facing copy in **English**. Write realistic, on-theme copy for a fictional mission-control/telemetry product — invent the product name, feature names, step names, testimonial names/roles, FAQ answers, and prices. No lorem ipsum, no placeholder-only content.
- No build tools, no CDNs other than Google Fonts/Material Symbols; all visuals are CSS-generated (no raster images required).

## 5. PAGE SECTION SPECIFICATIONS

**Global chrome**
- Fixed header (`--z-header`, `rgba(0,0,0,0.8)` + blur with opaque fallback): mono wordmark with bracket decoration; nav links (Features, How It Works, Testimonials, Pricing, FAQ) with animated 1px underline draw on hover/focus and smooth-scroll (respecting reduced motion); theme toggle; hamburger on mobile opening a flex-column panel (`aria-expanded`, `Esc` close, focus management, body scroll lock).
- Fixed HUD frame: 1px corner brackets at all four viewport corners; `pointer-events: none`; `aria-hidden`; hidden below 480px.
- Page background: fixed grid of 1px `var(--grid-line)` lines (repeating gradients, low opacity) plus a radial vignette; an optional subtle full-page scanline overlay must never obscure text.

**Hero**
- `min-height: calc(100svh - header height)`; flex column → row at ≥1024px.
- Left: blinking status marker + mono eyebrow (`SYSTEM v4.2 // ONLINE`); H1 in `--font-display` with glow on the key phrase; mono subhead in `--text-secondary`; CTA row: `.btn--primary` ("Initialize System") + `.btn--ghost` ("View Specifications").
- Right: `.hud-panel` telemetry module — animated counters (nodes, uptime, latency) updated by `script.js`, a CSS-only sparkline/waveform (gradients — no images, no chart libraries), sweeping scanline, corner brackets, blinking markers.
- Below: the ticker strip (e.g., `ALL SYSTEMS NOMINAL // 12,804 NODES ACTIVE // UPLINK STABLE //`).

**Features (3 cards)**
- Mono section header (`SEC.01 // CAPABILITIES`) + H2 + one-line intro. Three `.hud-panel`s in a flex-wrap row: bracketed Material Symbol icon, index labels `FEAT_01–03`, title, copy, decorative data bar. Hover lift + glow; staggered scroll reveal.

**How It Works (3 steps)**
- `SEC.02 // PROTOCOL`. Three steps with numbered markers (`01 02 03`) inside bracket frames; a 1px connector line between steps — horizontal ≥768px, vertical on mobile — animated draw-in on reveal. Each step: mono label, title, short copy.

**Testimonials**
- `SEC.03 // TRANSMISSIONS`. Three quote `.hud-panel`s: quote text, CSS-only avatar (author initials inside a bracket frame — no external images), name + role in mono, and 5 tick markers as a rating. Subtle hover glow.

**Pricing (3 tiers)**
- `SEC.04 // ACCESS LEVELS`. Three `.hud-panel` tiers in a flex row (wrap); the middle tier is `.hud-panel--featured` with full `--border-default`, `--shadow-md` glow, and a "RECOMMENDED" tag with blinking marker. Each tier: mono name, price in `--font-display` with billing period, feature list using Material `check_circle` (success token) / `close` (error token), and a CTA (`.btn--primary` featured / `.btn--ghost` others). Optional monthly/annual toggle — if included, it must use `aria-pressed` and animate price changes.

**FAQ**
- `SEC.05 // QUERIES`. Accordion of 5 `.faq-item`s: `<button aria-expanded>` question with rotating chevron + answer region (`aria-controls`), animated expansion (grid-rows or max-height technique, no layout jump), fully keyboard operable, real answers.

**Final CTA**
- `SEC.06 // INITIALIZE`. Full-width high-impact `.hud-panel` with the strongest theme-appropriate glow treatment: H2, supporting copy, and the `.input-group` email capture + `.btn--primary` ("Request Access"). On submit: button enters loading, then simulated success (`.is-success` + `aria-live` status "ACCESS REQUEST TRANSMITTED") or inline invalid state — no real network calls.

**Footer with secondary links**
- Top: four secondary link columns (Product / Company / Resources / Legal) in a flex-wrap layout; mono links with hover underline draw; social icon row (Material Symbols with `aria-label`s); status line `SYS.STATUS: ONLINE` with blinking success marker.
- Bottom bar: copyright with current year, legal/secondary links, back-to-top link.

**`script.js` scope (vanilla, no libraries):** theme init/toggle/persistence; mobile menu; accordion; IntersectionObserver reveals; form validation + button states; throttled telemetry counters; smooth anchor scrolling; current year. Keep it lean and commented.
